When Sciatica Isn’t the Whole Story
Mander Thiara
I recently saw someone who came in urgently, convinced their sciatica was stopping them from sleeping. But once I assessed them, it became clear the pain wasn’t the main iissue — there was a lot more going on beneath the surface.
Through pulse work and a deeper conversation, we uncovered stress and other imbalances they hadn’t realised were affecting their body. After a 75‑minute holistic treatment and some tailored aftercare, they messaged to say they finally slept well.
This is why I love Chinese medicine.
It gives us the time and space to look at the whole person — not just the symptom. In a world where it can take weeks to see a GP for a 15‑minute slot, holistic care can offer relief, clarity and a sense of being heard.
Sometimes the body tells a bigger story.
We just need the space to listen.
